This self-directed editorial project explores multicultural identity through the intertwined histories of my family. Drawing on primary research, including interviews with relatives, personal photographs, letters, documents, and family artefacts, I examined how different cultural, political, and social environments influenced my parents' lives before they met, and how their identities evolved as their worlds merged.

The book follows a dual-narrative structure, telling my parents' stories from their individual perspectives. Each side explores their contrasting upbringings and experiences of major historical events through the lens of their respective cultures, before shifting to the changes that occurred when their lives became intertwined.
My dad’s time to Russia immersed him in a new language, community and way of life, while later my mum faced a similar challenge when moving to Switzerland and adapting to an unfamiliar cultural environment. Reflecting this concept, the book can be read from either end, with one side following my mum's story and the other my dad's.
